Love is in the air. Here are our favourite tips for making your next couple's road trip a romantic and memorable one.
1. Stock up on the soft stuff
Good caravans are designed for comfort, but there's nothing like draping blankets, towels, sashes and scarves around the interior to make a
space feel like home. And they'll certainly prove useful on those breezy, beautiful nights where you just can't bear to shut the window. For
best results while on the road, we recommend light, natural fabrics that are easy to clean.
2. BYO mood lighting
Before you hit the highway, grab a box or two of solar-powered fairy lights from your local hardware store. They're affordable, compact and
easy to pack away, plus the solar-charged battery means you won't be putting a dent in your vehicle's reserves. Look out for LED solar
powered candles too, to add that extra fire-safe spark of romance to the dining table.
3. Dine local, wine local
If you plan to cook your own meals in your caravan kitchen, take a few moments to research ingredients that are special to the region you're
visiting. Think native herbs and fruits, local wines and produce, or artisanal cheese and jams. Local food often comes with a story, i.e. a
unique flavour to share on your adventure together.
4. Stay in touch, but out of reach
You don't have to leave your devices at home to disconnect from normal life. But while you're on holiday, consider setting firm boundaries
around emails, phone calls, social media, and text messages. Your priority is clear: enjoying every moment with your loved one while it
lasts.
5. Make every day count...
...but we don't recommend filling your itinerary with back-to-back activities, not if the aim of your trip is to relax. You'll need time to
let new experiences sink in, so you can truly enjoy and appreciate them. Aim for just one or two memorable highlights each day, whether it's
an adventurous trek, a special lunch, or quiet quality time together.
