We own a 21 ft Blue Sky Splendour and we picked it up from the factory in Melbourne nearly 4 years ago and have been on 4 big trips with it since owning it. It was ordered through the wonderful Melissa in Burpengary, Brisbane but we wanted to collect her from Melbourne and just sail away, and oh what fun we have had with our Splendour!

Immediately upon taking ownership we put her on to the Spirit of Tasmania and gave her a good shakedown over there! A wonderful month was spent in Tassie and then another fortnight to bring her home north and have her finally checked out in the very efficient Burpengary sales yard.

Since then, each year we have done a big trip for 3 months near the end of the year which is when we have had the time to take off and leave the chooks etc to the house sitter.

We have been up to Cooktown and back slowly, celebrating the Melbourne Cup in the Top Pub in Cooktown was very memorable! Last year we did The Lap in 3.5 months, heading from Brisbane across to Bourke in the first fortnight and then spending the next month in WA enjoying its wonderful coastline and beaches. It was not enough time but we knew what we wanted to go back and see next trip.

So this year we knew that the Peninsulas of SA were on the list “to do” so we headed south along the coast to visit family in Sydney, onto Melbourne for more family and a wedding and then along the Great Ocean Road to SA and those peninsulas.We LOVE our Blue Sky Splendour and we LOVE showing her off to others. No complaints from this happy couple.
