Can I Tow It?
Essential Towing Tips
Know Your GVM & GCM
GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) is the max total weight of your loaded vehicle. GCM (Gross Combined Mass) is the total of vehicle + trailer. Never exceed either.
80% Rule
For safe, comfortable towing, especially over long distances, aim to keep your caravan weight at 80% or less of your vehicle's maximum tow rating.
Ball Weight Matters
The tow ball weight (usually 10% of trailer weight) counts against your vehicle's GVM. Factor it into your payload calculations.
Get a Weigh
Every van comes with its weighbridge docket, so you know its real weight, not a brochure guess. Visit a public weighbridge before your first trip. Weigh the vehicle loaded with passengers and gear, then weigh with the caravan attached.
